Presenter: Kate Rose is the UF/IFAS Florida Sea Grant Extension Agent in Charlotte County. Despite growing up in New Jersey, Kate has been connected to Florida all her life—earning her SCUBA certification at age 10 in Key Largo. She moved down to the state as fast as she could and earned her B.S. and M.S. from the University of Florida School of Forestry, Fisheries & Geomatic Sciences. In her current role, she develops and offers a variety of educational programming for Florida residents centered around estuarine ecology, citizen science and environmental stewardship.
