Love in the swamps....It's courtship season in the swamps for the American Alligator and Florida's State Reptile is on the move and looking for love. Male alligators can be quite romantic, singing booming, cypress-shaking songs, offering back rubs and doing something called the water dance. Males will get in the water and with their back just under the surface and their head and tail arched up, they will bellow. The sound roars through their body and causes the bones in the back called osteoderms to shake. This in turn causes the water at the surface to shake, creating a spectacular fountain show for the female. Additionally the male will place his clawed paw on the females back and hold her under water for as long as he can. Well, they're mostly romantic. Gators are more territorial at this time of the year and as always should not be approached.

ECOTOUR PROVIDER WEBINAR SERIES UPDATE

REGISTRATION OPENS MAY 15!

John implemented ECOTOUR Provider workshops over 15 years ago as a way to provide on going education and professional development to eco tour operators in Southwest Florida. He thoughtfully brought together area experts to present on a variety of subjects that would help educate and minimize  impact on our natural resources. John was so very dedicated to the Principles of Ecotourism and it remains the foundation of FL SEE's mission.

As FL SEE grew statewide, we launched these presentations by webinar so we could reach members around the state. Join us during the months of June-October for monthly webinars that will help you offer meaningful sustainable programs to your guests. These webinars have helped prepare businesses who wish to pursue certification through FL SEE.

FL SEE ECO TOUR WEBINARS will forever be dedicated to the memory of John Kiseda
