ECO LEARNING at Rookery Bay

On December 5th, Florida SEE's executive director, John Kiseda presented a "Lunch and Learn" lecture at the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Reserve titled "Being An Eco Traveler In Southwest Florida".

The event was well-received, an indication that Florida SEE's newest educational series will be equally as appreciated - read on for more information!

COMING SOON: Eco Traveler Series for 2013

In partnership with Lee County Parks & Recreation, Florida SEE will present a three-installment Eco Traveler Series at The Eco Living Center, Rutenberg Park, Fort Myers.  Sessions are tentatively set for January, February, and March; details will be announced as soon as they are finalized!

BREVARD COUNTY Ecotour Providers, Fall Meeting

A meeting of the Brevard County Ecotour Providers was held on November 20th at the Coco Beach Public Library. Meetings in Brevard are held quarterly, and are co-sponsored by Florida SEE, Indian River Lagoon National Estuary Program, Brevard Nature Alliance and Brevard Extension Services Office.

Speakers included Holly Abeels, Brevard Marine Agent, who spoke about the Florida Master Naturalist program; Dr. Rachel Wentz of the Florida Public Archeology Nework, whose talk about Florida pre-history was very well received; and Ben Evans, Florida SEE board member, who walked through the Florida SEE certification self-assessment with the audience.

Are you an ecotour provider in Brevard interested in attending quarterly educational meetings?  Contact Kathy Hill for details about future meetings.
